Deleting your data

Signed in to BookWorkz, open Social Media in the sidebar and go to the Profiles panel. Each platform you have connected has a Disconnect control on its row. Pressing it takes effect immediately.

What disconnecting removes. The stored credential for that account — the token or app password you gave us — is deleted from our database. We keep no copy of it anywhere else. Nothing further is published to that account, and any post you had scheduled to it stops.

What it does not remove. Posts already published to the platform stay where they are. We cannot delete them for you once they are live, and there is no “unpublish” in this product — the platform is where you delete them, using that platform’s own controls. Your drafts and schedules inside BookWorkz also remain, because they are your work and you may want them after disconnecting. Section 3 is how to have those removed.

You can also revoke from the platform’s side. Every platform keeps its own list of connected apps, and removing BookWorkz there has the same effect on our access. For an app password, delete the password in the platform’s security settings. Doing it on both sides is belt and braces, not a requirement.

Deleting your BookWorkz account removes your access to the workspace and starts the deletion described in the Privacy Policy’s retention table. Write to support@bookworkz.tech from the address on the account and say that you want it closed. We will confirm before anything is deleted, because account deletion cannot be undone.

If you were invited into somebody else’s organization. Your work sits in a workspace that organization controls. We can remove you and your personal data from it, but the manuscripts and posts belong to the organization and are theirs to delete. Write to us and we will tell you which is which.

You do not have to close the account to have data removed. Write to support@bookworkz.tech and say what you want deleted. The requests we see most often are:

(a) A connected social account and everything about it. The credential, the handle, the posts drafted for it, and their schedules.

(b) A pen name and everything under it. Its profile, its hashtags, its posts and its schedules.

(c) Everything. The whole account, as in Section 2.

We will verify that the request comes from you before acting on it, and we respond within the period the Privacy Policy commits to — normally 30 days for a GDPR request and 45 for a US state request. If we need longer we will tell you why before that period is up.

So that you can decide what you want removed, this is everything BookWorkz stores when you connect a social media account:

The credential. An app password or access token, encrypted at rest, used only to publish the posts you schedule. It is never shown back to you and never leaves our servers except to the platform it belongs to.

Your handle on that platform. What you publish under, so the composer can show it to you.

The posts you wrote and their schedules. Their text, their pictures, the time each is due, and — once published — the identifier the platform returned, so the app can link to what went out.

We do not read your timeline, your followers, your messages, or anything else on the platform. The access we ask for is the access needed to publish, and nothing we store about a connected account is used for advertising, profiling, or training a model.
